Items Needed

  • Embroidery floss (3–6 different colors)
    • Alternatives can be yarn, wax string, or paracord.
  • Tape or clip to hold the bracelet in place

Braiding Instructions

  1. Choose 3–4 colors and cut strands about 12 inches long.
  2. Gather the strands and tie a big knot at one end, leaving some extra string.
  3. Tape or clip the knotted end to a table to keep it steady.
  4. Separate the strands into two sections and twist each section tightly in one direction.
  5. Twist both sections together in the opposite direction.
  6. Divide the strings into three sections and braid them like hair.

Knot Instructions

  1. Cut several strands of embroidery floss, each about 12–15 inches long.
  2. Gather the strands and tie a knot at one end, leaving some extra length for tying later.
  3. Tape or clip the knotted end to a table or another flat surface to keep it steady.
  4. Take one strand and loop it over the other strands, forming a small knot. Pull tight.
  5. Repeat the knot-tying step, using the same strand to make several knots in a row before switching to a different color.
  6. Continue tying knots in a pattern until the bracelet reaches the desired length.
  7. Tie a final knot at the end and trim any excess floss.
  8. Use the extra length to tie the bracelet around the wrist or gift it to a friend.
