Drive – Clothing

Items Needed

  • Clean, gently used clothing (shirts, pants, jackets, shoes, accessories).
  • Boxes or bags to collect and transport items.
  • Markers and paper for signs or labels.

Instructions

  1. Set Up the Clothing Drive:
    • Choose a location where clothing donations will be collected.
    • Set up tables, bins, or boxes to keep items organized.
    • Make signs that explain the clothing drive and what items are needed.
  2. Organize Donations:
    • Scouts gather and organize donated clothing items.
    • Sort clothing by type (e.g., shirts, pants, jackets, shoes).
    • Ensure items are clean and in good condition.
  3. Prepare Donations:
    • Fold and pack clothing into boxes or bags for easier transport.
    • Label boxes based on clothing type and size if needed.
  4. Deliver or Assist a Shelter or Clothing Bank:
    • Bring donations to a local shelter, community center, or organization that distributes clothing.
    • If assisting on-site, scouts can help with sorting or organizing clothing racks.
  5. Reflect on the Experience:
    • Discuss why clothing drives are important and how they support people in need.
    • Talk about ways to reduce waste and reuse clothing responsibly.
