Activity Description: Scouts use their storyboard to draw a comic with panels, pictures, and words.
- Fulfills Step 5 of GSUSA Cadette Comic Artist badge requirements.
Info Needed: There are multiple ways to add words to a comic. Dialogue bubbles, thought bubbles, or captions are the most common. The words should help explain what’s happening or what the characters are thinking. Keep the text short so it fits clearly inside, above, or below each panel.

- Storyboard sheets (from Storyboard Comic activity)
- (Optional) 4 panel comic (from Mirror Expressions, Partner Positions, Plan a Comic, or Transition Time activity)
- Paper
- Writing and coloring utensils
- Blank 4-panel comic grid
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 30 min):
- Review the storyboard to remember the story plan. (5 min)
- Scouts look at their scenes and decide how to show them in comic form.
- (Optional) Scouts can use the previous 4 panel comic (from Mirror Expressions, Partner Positions, Plan a Comic, or Transition Time activity)
- Use paper and drawing tools to create a 4-panel comic. (25 min)
- Scouts can draw on Blank 4-panel comic grid or make their own panels with a ruler.
- Each panel should show part of the story using pictures, speech bubbles, and words. (Words must be included in some manner.)
