Do a Good Turn Daily

Fulfills Step 2 of GSUSA Daisy Petal – Considerate and Caring badge requirements.

Items Needed:

  • Paper or notebook
  • Pens or pencils

Instructions:

  1. Learn the Tradition: Share the Girl Scout slogan, “Do a good turn daily,” and explain that a good turn is a special act of kindness. Discuss how this tradition honors the spirit of kindness and helping others.
  2. Brainstorm Acts of Kindness: Work with scouts to make a list of good turns they can try, both big and small, such as holding the door for someone, sharing a smile, or helping with a chore. Talk about what’s realistic and how everyone can make an effort to do a small act of kindness daily.
  3. Put Kindness into Action: Encourage scouts to do one good turn each day and share the idea with others.
  4. Reflect: At the next meeting or activity, discuss how their acts of kindness made a difference and celebrate their efforts.
