Step 1 – Discover what it means to be honest
Learn difference between truth and lies (play truth or lie, OR play tag regular and then a round by using the honor code system).
RECOMMENDED: Truth vs Lie

Step 2 – Find out what it means to be fair
Practice being fair (share equal amounts of snacks, OR play hide-and-seek scavenger hunt and be honest and fair when comparing who did what in 5 minutes).
RECOMMENDED: Hiding Items or Supply/Snack Trouble

Step 3 – Put it into practice
Practice being honest and fair (play a new game and follow the rules, OR make up one scenario for each word: honest, fair, dishonest, and unfair).

Field Trips
Make sure all requirements are met when going or have a pre-field trip meeting to hit the requirements.
- Library tour – The use of the library relies on everyone being honest and fair
- Miniature golf – follow rules
- Bowling – follow rules
- Sports event – explain how all players follow the rules
- Museum field trip – by taking turns at the various exhibits
Guest Speakers
Make sure all requirements are met when there are there or have a meeting before or after the guest speaker to hit the requirements.
- local referee/judge/umpire
- local sports team or athlete
- Field trip to local donation place that donations children’s toys/items to kids in need – The scouts may be asked to help clean toys to get them ready to go out, sort crayons into boxes, make wrapping paper, etc. They can get a tour of the place. You can also ask each scout to bring a gently used toy from home to donate as well.
