Courageous Scene

Fulfills Step 1 of GSUSA Daisy Petal – Courageous and Strong badge requirements.

Items Needed:

  • Paper
  • Coloring supplies (markers, crayons, etc.)
  • (Optional) googly eyes, cotton balls, or other craft supplies for decoration.

Instructions:

  1. Challenge scouts to create a drawing called a ‘Courageous Scene.’ Scouts must think of someone they know who is brave and strong—this could be a family member, friend, or even someone in the community. (Optional – Share examples: “Courage and bravery can be shown in big or small ways, like helping others, standing up for what’s right, or facing challenges with kindness and strength.”)
  2. Scouts draw a picture of the person they chose, showing how that person is courageous or brave. (Optional: Add texture with googly eyes, cotton balls, or other supplies.)
  3. Scouts share their drawings with the group and explain why they chose that person. Encourage scouts to think about how they can be courageous and brave like the person in their scene.
