Colleges and employers often review online history before making decisions. Social media challenges—whether positive like the Ice Bucket Challenge or negative with risky dares—add to your digital presence. Consider how your profile may evolve over time, and control your footprint by keeping accounts private, being mindful about posts, and thinking carefully before sharing anything online.

Items Needed

• Several magazines or catalogs to share.
• Large sheet of paper for each scout (poster board, construction paper, etc.).
• Blank or lined sheet of paper for each scout.
• Scissors, glue, and markers to share.
• (Optional) Ask scouts to bring in magazines or catalogs ahead of time.

Instructions

1. Using magazines, select words and images that represent the life they want 10 years from now.
2. Provide each scout with materials to create a collage representing their goals for the future.
3. Once collages are complete, pair scouts to share and explain their creations.
4. In pairs, brainstorm a list of healthy cyber habits that align with their 10-year goals.
