Instructions

  1. Ask scouts how they help out at home and explain that helpful actions can be big or small, like taking out the garbage or helping with a pet. Share that families are teams, and everyone has a part to play. Explain they’ll create chore coupons to help with new chores at home.
  2. Cut three rectangular strips of paper, use index cards, or cut and use the Chore Coupons template.
  3. Have scouts choose three chores they don’t usually do at home. Ask scouts to draw a picture of each chore on a coupon and decorate them.
    • If time allows, let scouts share their coupons with the group and encourage them to give the coupons to their family members.
    • Remind them to explain how family members can use the coupons when they need help around the house.
