Instructions

  1. Start by explaining how online information spreads and cannot truly be taken back. Then, play a storytelling game.
  2. One scout begins by sharing a short, fictional “post,” such as, “I just saw the coolest purple bird!”
  3. Another scout takes that post and “shares” it, adding their twist: “My friend saw a purple bird that can talk!”
  4. Continue around the group, with each scout adding something to the story as if they were “sharing” the information.

By the end, the story will have changed dramatically and become far from the original “post.” This illustrates how information online can spread, change, and grow uncontrollably, often becoming exaggerated.
