Brainstorming – Random Choice

Items Needed:

  • Dice, name sticks, slips of paper in a hat, or other tools for deciding turns
  • Paper or notebook for jotting down solutions
  • Pens or pencils

Instructions:

  1. Introduce the Topic: Decide on a single topic or problem to brainstorm, such as “How can we make the playground safer?”
  2. Take Turns Suggesting Ideas: Use dice rolls, name sticks, or slips of paper in a hat to decide whose turn it is. Each scout shares one solution idea for the topic.
  3. Encourage Discussion: After each idea, allow the group to briefly discuss or build on the idea if they’d like.
  4. Continue Brainstorming: Keep going until everyone has had multiple turns or until a set number of ideas are collected.
  5. Wrap Up: Review all the ideas and reflect on the creativity and teamwork shown during the activity.
