Brainstorming – Back and Forth

Items Needed:

  • Paper or notebook
  • Pens or pencils

Instructions:

  1. Start with a Problem: The leader gives a fun example, like a dog afraid to walk on slippery floors.
    • Example solutions: rugs, dog booties, textured flooring.
  2. Propose Solutions: Scouts take turns suggesting ideas to solve the problem.
  3. Introduce Challenges: The leader presents issues with each solution.
    • Example: “What if the booties fall off?” or “What if the rugs slip?”
  4. Work Around It: Scouts brainstorm ways to fix the problem (e.g., “Use Velcro to keep the booties on” or “Add non-slip pads under the rugs”).
  5. Move On If Needed: If they can’t fix the problem, they move to another idea.
  6. Reflect Together: Discuss how they worked through challenges to find the best solutions.
