Items Needed:
- Pipe cleaners (one for each Scout)
- Pony beads in the colors of the 10 Daisy petals

Ceremony Instructions:
- Scouts each hold a pipe cleaner during the ceremony, with one end twisted to keep beads from falling off. They stand, forming a line or a semicircle.
- “Welcome, everyone, to our Bridging Ceremony. Today, we celebrate the incredible growth and accomplishments of our Scouts as they take the next step in their Girl Scout journey. This bridge represents the path they have traveled and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.”
- Leaders announce each law line with a statement like “May you always be Honest and Fair,” and alternate taking turns moving down the line, handing out pony beads in the order of the Girl Scout Law.
- “May you always be Honest and Fair,”
- Scouts place the bead onto their pipe cleaner before the next bead is handed out. Leaders continue with each part of the law, such as, “May you always be Friendly and Helpful,” until all beads are distributed. One leader can start with the next bead before the first is finished, as long as the first Scout has secured their bead on their pipe cleaner before they start.
- “May you always be Friendly and Helpful,” and similar for all lines of the Law.
- Once all beads are placed on the pipe cleaners, Scouts have created a bracelet or keepsake representing the Girl Scout Law. Scouts place their completed bracelets on their arms, symbolizing their dedication to the Girl Scout Law.
- “Scouts, as you place your bracelets on your arms, let them serve as a symbol of your dedication to living by the Girl Scout Law. Each bead represents the values we strive to uphold—honesty, fairness, kindness, and courage. May these bracelets remind you of the promise you’ve made and inspire you to carry these values with you in everything you do.”
- Together, they perform the Girl Scout sign and recite the Girl Scout Promise as a group, reaffirming their commitment to its values.
- “On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.”
If Rededicating Only…
- The leader formally presents and recognizes the Scouts, celebrating their rededication to living by the Girl Scout Promise and Law as they continue their journey in Girl Scouts.
- “It is my great honor to present to you our troop. These Scouts have rededicated themselves to following the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and we are so proud of their commitment to making the world a better place.”
If Bridging…
- The leader formally announces they will be bridging up to the next level.
- “As [Daisies/Brownies/Juniors/etc.], you have accomplished so much. You have shown dedication, kindness, and teamwork, and we are so proud of all that you’ve achieved.”
- Ask Scouts to remove their old vests and hold them in their hands.
- “As you prepare to take this important step, let’s take a moment to reflect on the memories and lessons from this chapter of your Girl Scout journey.”
- One by one, call each Scout by name to cross the bridge. As they cross, have them leave their old vest on one side and be greeted on the other side by a leader or older Scout.
- The leader or older Scout on the other side says as they greet each Scout. Present the new uniform or ceremonial ribbon sash to the Scout.
- “Welcome to your new level as a Girl Scout [Brownie/Junior/Cadette/etc.]. May you carry the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law with you as you embark on this new adventure.”
- Once all Scouts have crossed the bridge, have them stand together wearing their new uniforms or ceremonial ribbon sashes.
- “It is my great honor to present to you our newly bridged Girl Scouts. These Scouts have rededicated themselves to following the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and we are so proud of their commitment to making the world a better place.”
- End the ceremony by encouraging applause from the audience and inviting everyone to celebrate.
- “Thank you all for joining us in this special moment. Let’s give a big round of applause to our Scouts as they embark on this next exciting chapter.”
