Book Gift Show and Tell

Activity Description: Scouts present their finished book gift and share why it’s helpful, special, or inspiring.

Info Needed: Sharing a project helps scouts practice communication and celebrate their creativity.

Items Needed:

  • Scout’s completed book gift
  • (Optional) A small table or display area
  • (Optional) Timer or stopwatch
  • (Optional) Stickers or name cards for fun presentation

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15 min):

  1. Set up the space (2–3 min)
    • Scouts sit in a circle or stand in a line with their book ready to share.
    • (Optional) Use a table or display area for scouts to place their books.
  2. Show and tell the book (6–8 min)
    • Go around the room one by one. Each scout holds up their book and says who it’s for and what it helps with. Keep each turn to about 30 seconds.
  3. Pitch or invite others to try (4–5 min)
    • Each scout gives one short idea:
      • Why someone else should make a book like theirs
      • What they would add next time
      • Who else might enjoy using a book like this
  4. Celebrate the work (1–2 min)
    • Thank scouts for sharing and recognize the creativity and care they put into their books.
