Items Needed
- Durable outdoor mesh (e.g., metal mesh or sturdy plastic mesh, available at hardware stores)
- Embroidery hoop circles
- Strong glue (e.g., E6000 or wood glue)
- Cord or jute rope
- Hook for hanging (e.g., an S-hook, available at hardware stores)
- Scissors
- Peanuts or large birdseed
Instructions
- Cut the outdoor mesh to fit inside the embroidery hoop circles.
- Secure the mesh in place inside the hoops using strong glue, and tighten the clamps to hold the mesh securely. Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 hours or as recommended on the glue packaging.
- Once the glue is dry, trim any excess mesh, leaving a neat, useable platform.
- Attach the cord or jute rope at three evenly spaced points around the hoop by tying it securely to the clamp area or threading it through the mesh holes.
- Tie the three pieces of rope together at the top to create a pyramid-shaped hanging system. Leave each rope length long enough for stable hanging (around 12–18 inches).
- At the tip of the pyramid, tie a knot and attach the hook securely.
- Use the hook to hang the feeder in a tree or on a porch.
- Place peanuts or large birdseed on the mesh platform for birds to enjoy.
