Spotlight: Sharon Beecroft and Treasure Hunters Badges

Preserving Scouting History, One Patch at a Time

Scouting badges are more than just symbols—they tell stories, commemorate achievements, and create lasting connections between generations of scouts. Few people understand this better than Sharon Beecroft, the owner of Treasure Hunters Badges.

With a collector’s keen eye for detail, Sharon has built a space where scouting leaders and enthusiasts can find high-quality, rare, and vintage patches. Whether scouting for a unique design or searching for variations in background or border colors, collectors know they can turn to her expertise.

From Collector to Community Builder

Sharon’s journey began with selling extra council patches online, but quickly grew into something much larger—a thriving Facebook community. Created in 2016, the group has become a trusted marketplace for patch collectors and scouting leaders alike, now boasting over 14,000 members in 2025.

What sets GS Treasure Hunters Facebook Group apart is Sharon’s commitment to keeping the group transparent, fair, and drama-free—a rarity in large online marketplaces. With clear rules and zero tolerance for scammers, she ensures that members can trade, sell, and connect with lower risk.

A Legacy of Leadership

Beyond selling patches, Sharon fosters a sense of community among collectors. She encourages members to share knowledge, compare variations, and celebrate the history behind scouting patches. Whether offering “moldie oldies” or limited-edition designs, she approaches every transaction with integrity and passion.

Her leadership also extends to Treasure Hunters Badges, where she carefully curates patch collections, combines shipping for buyers, and provides comparison photos for collectors seeking specific variations.

Honoring a Trailblazer in the Patch Community

From launching an online marketplace to maintaining a transparent and fair environment for collectors, Sharon Beecroft has left a lasting mark on the scouting patch world. As Treasure Hunters Badges continues to evolve, one thing remains certain—she’s not just selling patches, she’s preserving history.

Sharon is down to Earth and is happy to chat with anyone about Girl Scouts. “I do understand the passion GS people have for finding great treasures, whether it is for “their” girls or for their personal collections. As a collector myself I totally understand that mentality and as a former leader I salute all those who want to provide the best scouting experience they can. Although I would also add that I have a great team of admins and moderators that do the lion’s share of work in the FB group nowadays, especially as I am no longer a ‘spring chicken.’”

For those looking for unique patches and expert guidance, Sharon’s work offers more than just products—it’s a treasure trove of scouting tradition.
