Yes – 2011 Is the current GSUSA badge
These are simply suggestions and may take some creativity and extra steps to earn all the badges in various levels.
A Multi-Level Troop will need to do extra steps when earning different badges across levels. It depends on how many requirements overlap. Some will only have one or two matching requirements.
GSUSA has an Award Log for each level with a comparison table for all badges in similar themes. Not all badges in the same theme have correlating requirements – you basically have to earn two separate badges. We recommend a Fun Patch in that case.
Badges with correlating requirements means you can do an activity that counts towards different badges in the different levels.
Warning
The Snow and Climbing Adventure badges will have a completely different type of Snow or Climbing adventure for each level and cannot be done concurrently with keeping the technical requirements.
Many multi-level troop leaders will pick the adventure that is appropriate for the level of progression of that troop. Even single-level troops often work on a lower-level requirement for this badge.
If you live in the south and have high schoolers that have never even gone sledding, doing a Brownie level beginner ski lesson after a cross-state trip is a big adventure. It would not be appropriate for a high schooler to count a day of sledding as a challenge, but it may be for a middle schooler or 5th grader.
If you live in the north but your high schoolers have never done more than sledding, they may also choose to do a Brownie or Junior level adventure. Spending two days on the slopes when you have not progressed that far is not a good idea. GSUSA is very big on progression.
Use your best judgement on where your scouts are at. Do not let them simply repeat the same thing at every level. They should increase the difficulty each time they earn this badge. But do not expect them to hit the technical level they are at when their progression level does not match. GSUSA does want the scouts to experience new things and try new skills.
