Requirements

Choose one in each requirement.

Make your community better

Activities

  • Cake Walk type game – Tape papers to the floor in a circle with topics. Play music and the girls walk around the circle. When the music stops they stand on a paper and say how can they make the (whatever they are standing on) a better place. (Use Service Cards as papers to step on.)
  • Do a Random Act of Kindness Day
  • Donate used books to a library or a preschool
  • Donate a book to a little free library
  • help families that might need a little support around the holidays. Put together a meal for Thanksgiving, gather presents around the winter holidays, or put together a summer fun kit.

Crafts

  • Make cards to go with food donations
  • Make paper flowers
  • Paint kindness rocks
  • Make no sew blankets for Project Linus or homeless shelter
  • Bake some treats, make a card, draw a picture for a nursing home, hospital, or police station
  • Participate in a My New Red Shoes project.

Make the environment better

Activities

  • Plant a Tree
  • Plant flowers
  • Plant some free wildflower seeds and help save the bees and butterflies.
  • Pick up trash (like in a city park or around a school)
  • Weed a garden
  • Groundskeeping at your meeting location
  • Create a kindness rock garden at the local library or pediatrician office (with permission).
  • Set up recycling station at your meeting location, school, or home. Make appropriate signs to instruct how to recycle (no food, rinse containers completely, etc…)

Field Trips

Make sure all requirements are met when going or have a pre-field trip meeting to hit the requirements.

  • Volunteer at the food pantry
  • Aquarium trip – learning about how humans can help save aquatic life by doing things in their day to day life (like using less disposable plastic, not letting chemicals go down storm drains, etc.).

Guest Speakers

Make sure all requirements are met when there are there or have a meeting before or after the guest speaker to hit the requirements.

  • Anyone in the service industry
  • Anyone in the environmental conservation service
  • Park Ranger
