Practice being considerate and caring at home (favorite activity of a family member, OR bag of kindness).
RECOMMENDED: Kindness Scavenger Hunt OR Manners Match
All Activities:
- Invite little sisters to a meeting
- Kindness Scavenger Hunt

- Craft: “A Scout was Here” Flower
- Craft: Kindness Drawing ((Similar to VTK/Handbook Suggestion))
- Craft: Kindness Jar or Box ((Similar to VTK/Handbook Suggestion))
- Craft: Make a Rainbow Art to give to someone and brighten their day
Step 2 – Be considerate and caring with friends
Practice being considerate and caring with friends (make collage of a friend’s favorites, OR round of compliments).
RECOMMENDED: Kindness Chain or Game: Progressive Art
All Activities:
- Learn about Do a Good Turn Daily motto
- Compliment Bag
- Kindness Chain
- Learn Take 5 Breathing
- Supply/Snack Trouble
- Craft: Friendship Collage Swap ((Similar to VTK/Handbook Suggestion))

Step 3 – Be considerate and caring in your community
Practice being considerate and caring in your community (make a card, OR practice Leave No Trace).
RECOMMENDED: Game: Durable Surface Walk or Craft: Heartfelt Greeting Cards
All Activities:
- Brainstorm ideas for Service
- Juliette Low Birthday Giving Celebration
- Learn the 7 principles of Leave No Trace ((Similar to VTK/Handbook Suggestion))

- Craft: Heartfelt Greeting Cards ((Similar to VTK/Handbook Suggestion))
Perform a Service Project
- Care packages to send to overseas troops serving our country
- Fill backpacks with school supplies
- Adopt a child from an Angel Tree at Christmas
- Toys for Tots (October – December)
- Food pantry donations (October and November are high collection times)
- Participate in Scouting for Food or other food drives
- Donate to a local animal shelter
- Make pet toys out of worn jeans for the animal shelter
- Help local preschool in need of books
- Make a Holiday in a Bag Project
- Make a book mark to remind people someone cares about them and leave the stack in the public library for anyone to take

Field Trips
Make sure all requirements are met when going or have a pre-field trip meeting to hit the requirements.
- Visit a nursing home and play games
- Hospitals and senior centers can have some great year round volunteering opportunities
- School – Does a teacher needs help collating papers or sorting math manipulatives? Does the PTA need help setting up the prize booth at the carnival?
- Partner with a local college’s women’s center or a family services location nearby
- Aquarium – by following rules and being aware of other Aquarium patrons
Guest Speakers
Make sure all requirements are met when there are there or have a meeting before or after the guest speaker to hit the requirements.
- Anyone in the Service Industry – talk about how they are considerate and caring to not just their customers but anyone that they meet while at work.
