Activities

  • Diversity Activities
  • Generic Gift exchange – think of others and be grateful for what you received even if it isn’t a love
  • Each scout draw another girl’s name from a bag. She designs a heart for her and presents it to her person at the end of the meeting.
  • Have a world map and show the girls where other countries are. You can talk a little bit about the different countries and their language or traditions. Be sure to point out just how similar people are even if we live in different countries.
  • Culture Bingo
  • HOLIDAY VERSION – Discuss the similarities and differences between the way each scout celebrates a holiday.

Discover that Girl Scouts/Guides are worldwide

Activities

  • World of Girl Scouts
  • Research one country and what WAGGGS organization is there. What are their local customs and troop activities?
  • If any area has a natural disaster or other tragedy, send aid to the local Girl Scout service unit or council. 
  • HOLIDAY VERSION – Learn about holiday traditions in some of the other countries where there are Girl Scouts or Girl Guides.

Increase your level of Girl Scout sisterhood

Activities

  • Play a team building game as a troop
  • Invite another troop – do a fun event together or go on a joint field trip to meet new sister scouts and see or do cool things.
  • Meet with another girl scout group from your area to share something you love and learn something from them.
  • Invite a new Daisy troop leader to join your meeting and talk to the scouts about their year to help the new leaders begin their journey in scouting
  • Sing Make New Friends song in French or Spanish.
  • Learn the Girl Scout Promise in a another language.
  • Learn a Campfire song that other scouts sing and have sung for decades
  • Invite a new friend to join your troop.
  • Participate in a Girl Scout recruiting event to help other girls to join Girl Scouts in your area.
  • Secret Troop Sister post card program
  • Find a pen pal from a different city, state, or country to share about your girl scout journey.
  • Make a YouTube video of your girls singing their favorite Girl Scout songs to share with other troops

Craft

  • Create a mural of your Daisy year(s) to share with others. The girls could write out the various petals and events
  • Make scrap books with photos of what the troop has done throughout the year to reflect on our scout sisters – Share with a new Daisy troop!

Stories

  • Watch a sisterhood centered movie: Lilo & Stitch, Frozen, The Parent Trap
  • Read “The Big Umbrella” by Amy June Bates and Juniper Bates

Field Trips

Make sure all requirements are met when going or have a pre-field trip meeting to hit the requirements.

  • Museum that shows things from around the world

Guest Speakers

Make sure all requirements are met when there are there or have a meeting before or after the guest speaker to hit the requirements.

  • Someone who lived in a different country
  • Someone who is from a different country
  • A Girl Scout from a different troop
  • A Girl Scout Leader from a different troop
