Gathering Activity
Gathering Activities (sometimes called Sponge Activities) are low-prep, engaging tasks given to youth immediately upon arrival.
Time Expected*:
15 minutes
Draw or Write Names – Youths set out cookie pictures and practice writing cookie names or drawing cookie shapes while waiting for the meeting to begin.
Meeting Start
Always plan for 5-10 minutes to allow scouts to arrive and your troop’s opening routines.

Activity 1 – Step 1
(Requirement 1 Earned)
Time Expected*:
15 minutes
Basic Cookie Sale – Youths explore Girl Scout Cookie types and prices, then practice buying cookies using play money.
Activity 2 – Step 2
(Requirement 2 Earned)
Time Expected*:
20 minutes
OPTION A:
Quick Goal Discussion – Youths share ideas for how to use cookie money, vote on favorites, and learn about personal goals.
OPTION B:
Quick Goal Idea Discussion – Youths explore ideas for using cookie money, vote on their favorites, and explore personal goals
Meeting End
Always plan for 5-10 minutes for clean up and Closing Routines

Use the option to make your own Finger Puppet and Booth Stand for the Finger Puppet Customer Practice – Youths use finger puppets and a mini cookie booth to practice selling Girl Scout Cookies.
