What is this badge about?

Support a younger group by observing a meeting, assisting in another with the leader’s help, and then planning and leading your own activity that keeps everyone engaged and included.

Our Summary* of requirements:

  1. Join a group meeting to learn members’ names and interests, observe which activities excite them and how the leader supports the group, then make a list of ways you could help next time.
  2. Assist with a meeting by first planning with the group’s leader, then preparing for your role and materials, and finally helping with activities during the meeting with flexibility and care.
  3. Plan and lead an activity by choosing something you enjoy, preparing materials and simple steps with approval from the leader, and guiding your group through the activity with clear communication and encouragement.

Where does this go on the Uniform?

The Junior Aide Award badge should go under the Rainbow Bridging Badge (if earned) or the membership stars (if no Rainbow Bridging Badge).

This badge should go where #7 is stated on the GSUSA Uniform Guide.

(Note – Badges and pins on a sash simply go in order (top of sash to bottom of sash) of Identification badges, bridging badge, pins, journeys, and other badges. Anything that does not fit on the front can be placed on the back of the sash. Sashes will not hold a lot of badges and vests are recommended if you plan to earn badges.)
