What is this badge about?

Think of a business idea, create a customer profile and do market research, make a prototype, make a business model, and pitch the idea.

Our Summary* of requirements:

  1. Think of ways to improve a product, service, or technology, or create something entirely new (inspired by something online, talk to an entrepreneur, OR brainstorm as a team).
  2. Create a customer profile from gathering information about who would most likely use or buy your product, service, or technology (research customers online, conduct surveys, OR brainstorm in small groups).
  3. Conduct market research to identify what makes your idea unique, and use that insight to improve your prototype (research industry trends AND create a timeline for you idea to evolve in 2, 5, and 10 years, speak with 2 business owners/entrepreneurial leaders for feedback, OR hold a focus group).
  4. Create a business model for how you will produce your product, operate your business, identify your customers, make money, AND reach your goals (research online, work with a mentor, OR create two models AND compare).
  5. Pitch your business idea to people who can provide feedback to improve your plan (marketing expert, finance professional, OR family/friends).
