  1. Learn about local government (visit town/city hall, mayor’s office OR talk to local government official)
  2. Learn about state laws (how they differ between states) or the current mayor and governor OR tour your state capitol
  3. Learn about Congress (House of Representatives and Senate)
  4. Learn about the president (mock election, book on presidents, or interview elder who has lived through multiple presidents)
  5. Learn about courts and judges (talk to lawyer, judge, or government teacher)
