Before 2018 there were several ways to earn the World Thinking Day badge, including learning about a different culture and country and sharing what you learned with others. This option is NO LONGER offered by GSUSA. Some leaders chose to still use this option due to the rule that any retired badge can still be earned, however technically this can only be used to earn any World Thinking Day themed badge prior to 2018.
After 2018 you can still enjoy learning about a different culture and country and participating in Festival of Nation events that communities and service units still hold – but this would only earn a Fun Patch, not the World Thinking Day badge.
Any annual badge released after 2018 technically can only be earned by following the themed requirements available on GSUSA.com
