2011 – Cabin Camper – At Home Overview

The Badge Archive’s At Home Overview gives one way for an independent scout to earn the badge on their own without a troop.

Step 1 – Talk to someone (experience camper or camp good store) or do research online.

Follow the Backyard Camping Plan activity.

Step 2 – Practice packing your gear before the trip.

This is done as part of the Backyard Camping Plan activity.

Step 3 – Make one meal (no-cook, one pot, or something new).

Cook a Simple Camp Meal with a trusted adult.

Step 4 – Learn a camp skill (i.e. fire building or knot tying).

Try the Tie a Clove Hitch Knot activity

Step 5 – Camp and have fun (play a game, take a hike, have a bridging ceremony).

Do the Solo Backyard Campout.
